McBeth, formerly known as McCreery, arrived at Save-a-Pet very early one morning, brought in by a kind stranger. She’d been cruelly dumped from a moving car!
Luckily for her, she was bought to us by someone who cared. This poor girl was suffering from both skin and ear infections and was skinny and covered in matted fur.
From day one, she was a sweet little thing, allowing us to groom and care for her.
Now, McBeth is in a loving home. Her skin and ears are fully healed, she’s sterilised, and she’s at a healthy weight.
McBeth has become increasingly energetic, happy, and loves people. She now lives with her new people and a doggy friend, Nelson. She loves her treats, and the only sign of her past is some odd-coloured fur in the patches that were once unhealthy.

In October 2022, one of my precious Scotties, Winnie, had to be put down due to cancer of the bladder, and so I was left heartbroken with my boy, Nelson.
Approximately three weeks later, I received a message – that I took as divine intervention – to go and visit Save-a-Pet. I was met by Leigh Done, the manager of Save-a-Pet, at the gate, and I shared my story of incredible loss with her. She told me of the female Scotty they had and immediately took me to meet her.
She was petite and looked so frail. Yet, even with signs of severe neglect, she was still very affectionate. At that stage, she was still under medical care and was being given lots of TLC by the Save-a-Pet staff.
I finally brought her home on the 19th of November and truly she’s a joy to have and to love. McBeth has adjusted very well. I took her to the vet last week and she passed her medical test. She’s lively and full of mischief, like a typical teenager, and loves my shoes and the scatter cushion tassels. She’s active in ball play and has a very good appetite. She’s not overjoyed to get bathed but, I’m sure, with time, she’ll come to find it’s not so bad.
Together we’re helping each other heal.
