ADORA-BULL TERRIER RESCUE – SAVING LIVES
We were contacted by Mason’s original family to assist with rehoming him, and were then notified that he’d been privately rehomed by their acquaintance who said that she knew of a great home for him. A few months later, we were contacted about a stray in boarding kennels who required our assistance.
As Mason is so very unique in looks, we recognised him immediately.
The “great” home was obviously not so great, and he was again in need of assistance. This is also why rehoming privately and without the guidance of a rescue organisation is so very dangerous. Luckily, Mason found his way to Adora-Bull and was adopted by Sean and family, and he’s not looked back since.

I had the pleasure of adopting Mason from Adora-Bull Terrier in June 2021, and it was the best decision that I could have made. Of course, my decision was greeted with apprehension and resistance from family members. Nevertheless, I contacted Riaan at Adora-Bull to perform a home check and make the first move to bringing a Bull Terrier home. Dealing with Riaan was an absolute pleasure, and not long after, I received approval to continue with the process.
We quickly arranged to meet with Dania at the kennels, and she was so gracious with her time. She took us for a tour around the kennels, telling us the story of each Bullie and how they’d ended up in the shelter. One cannot help but feel both sad and angry when hearing some of the stories.
We then had the privilege of taking some of the Bullies to the play area to get better acquainted with the potential family member. We spent some time playing with them and also got a feel for their behaviour. It was an absolute blast!
MAKING A DECISION
Fortunately, and unfortunately for me, I had to make one of the toughest decisions, and that was to choose who’d be my companion. My heart was torn between Mason and a female Bullie, Bianca, who’d come into the shelter a short while before. I ultimately decided to adopt Mason, as he’d been at the kennels for two years up until that point. Like so many of the Bull Terriers there, he was misunderstood, and people wouldn’t adopt him based on the way he looked and his bark (they were scared of him).
MASON HAS HIS FOREVER HOME
That very same day, Riaan drove Mason all the way from Vereeniging to Centurion to his new forever home. He spent some time with us to make sure Mason and I were both happy and comfortable with each other. Mason adapted so well to his new surroundings, and we had no concerns about whether he was comfortable or not!
One could immediately notice the training he’d received from Adora-Bull; he was so well-behaved and never had a single accident in the house. We’ve not had one incident with guests, and he’s always excited and happy to meet new people.
MY FRIEND, MY COMPANION, MY SON
To this day, Mason and I are the best of friends – he’s my companion, and he’s my son. I love him so much and would do anything to make sure he has the best life any dog deserves. Thanks to Adora-Bull, Mason got a second chance at life, and I gained a man’s best friend!
ADOPTION MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE
I wouldn’t think twice to recommend adopting a Bull Terrier from Adora-Bull Terrier Rescue. These dogs are painted in such a negative way, which is truly unfair to them, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Take the time to give them the love and affection any dog deserves, and I promise you, your opinion of the breed will change dramatically. The apprehension and resistance I received from family members is no more; they’ve been proven wrong, and I’m proud to have done that.
