Little Onyx came to our rescue organisation with a badly damaged eye, from a feral colony in Pretoria North, on the 17th of February 2023.
Our veterinary team made the decision to remove the eye. It didn’t take very long for our boy to turn into a purring, loving little pirate house panther whilst in the care of our dedicated foster mom, Marinda Cronje.
During one of Onyx’s veterinary visits, our paw-some animal friend, Dom van der Westhuizen, noticed Onyx and it was total love at first sight. The adoption was written in the kitty tails, in the whiskers stars.
On the 17th March 2023, Onyx was finally well enough to join his happy forever-after adoption home with Dom and her family.
Dom, Onyx’s new owner, shares...
We couldn’t wait to welcome Onyx into our family once we saw him at the vet. He was just the cutest little pirate with the loudest purrs in all of Pretoria. When we brought him home, he was full of energy and just wanted to eat, play and cuddle.
After just one week, he and my other cats were getting along (a miracle time frame). Now, he and my other black cat, Ninja, are inseparable. They’re mischievous and love chasing each other around the house and trying to find any way into the food cupboard! We’ve learnt to keep all kitty (and human) snacks locked up.
