Kai was dumped at Animal Welfare Society in Cape Town, South Africa. As he was very little when he was dumped, it was felt that he wouldn’t do well at the shelter itself and so a very kind young lady opted to foster him.
Before we adopted Kai, another couple had shown interest, but when it came to signing the papers stating that they’d look after him and be kind to him, they refused to sign this document! We were lucky enough to then be able to adopt Kai.
He has the most beautiful gentle nature. He went through a crazy teething period where I and others in the family were bitten quite badly; thankfully, slowly but surely he’s growing out of that phase. When we got him, he loved to be picked up and held. He’s gotten too big to hold but still loves to cuddle close to a person.
He “talks” a lot and is quite a vocal little one. He tells you when he’s not happy or even when he’s excited, like when I take him to doggie day care. He’s obsessed with food and will eat just about anything; even getting to a ball of wasabi a while back, which caused him to get sick.
Kai has the most beautiful green eyes and an unusual face structure. He has a brown, tan and white colouring which makes him a very unique pup who draws a lot of attention when we’re out and about with him. He absolutely loves people and wants to greet everyone he sees. While he’s a bit nervous of dogs he’s just met, he loves to play and run around with those he knows.

49% Italian Greyhound
29% Bull Terrier
22% Miniature Poodle
His MuttMix results were very interesting and I’d never have guessed a Greyhound! He’s quite hairy and looks more and more like a wire-haired terrier, but that didn’t come through in the results.
Kai is our “beautiful boy” and we cannot imagine life without him!
