At just 10 months old, Pikachu is already stealing hearts and chewing up the spotlight! With ears that flop just right and zoomies for days, this cutie is living the ulti-mutt life – chasing her Cocker Spaniel sibling, keeping a close eye on the family tortoise, and soaking up all the love she can get.

Her humans couldn’t help but wonder: what breeds make up this pawsome little pup? So they turned to MuttMix to fetch the facts.

A friend of ours gifted Pikachu to us as his teacup Yorkshire Terrier had a litter with another teacup Yorkie… or so we thought. Once we received Pikachu and watched her start to grow, we realised she was most definitely not a teacup Yorkie, or even a full Yorkie, which is why we had her DNA tested to find out more.

Pikachu’s MuttMix Results:

       68%         Yorkshire Terrier

       16%         Silky Terrier

         6%         Miniature Wire-Haired Dachshund

         5%         Norfolk Terrier

         5%         Maltese

We now assume that while both of her parents looked like teacup Yorkies, one was a purebred teacup Yorkie, and the other had quite a mix of ancestors in her genes!

Pikachu is my 10-year-old son James’ dog and she sleeps with him every night, and she lives with her best friend, Peanut, a golden Cocker Spaniel. Together, they play all day and get up to plenty of mischief around the house. Pikachu’s favourite pastime is playing tug-of-war with Peanut and staring at our tortoise in the garden.
