Have you ever had those days when nothing seems to be going right – and out of nowhere, the Cat Distribution System finds you?

Three little kittens

I received a call from a very close friend which I assumed was just for a general chat. To my amazement, she’d found three feral kittens hiding in a bushy area. As they cried for food and their mum, she began to search for her; not far away, sadly, she found that the mum had been knocked over and killed.

Of course I agreed to foster with the hope of rehoming the babies.

That brown box had changed my life forever; in it was a ginger male, a tabby female and tabby cross Bengal male. Off I went to purchase cat accessories and food. Days turned into weeks and soon enough it was a month and time for a vet check-up.

Needless to say, the three kitts never found a home... they’d found a forever home right here with me!

After the passing of my Jack Russell, my heart didn't want to adopt just yet; however, I knew I also had enough love to give and my Jr would be happy that I could love again.

Meet the trio

Munchie is my ginger male. He’s the most vocal, fun-loving, playful bundle of fluff. He’s my alarm clock at 4AM daily, and the most welcomed shadow. His eyes are the most captivating of all. His favourite toy is a ball made of foil, and his most favourite is a toy llama.

Bella is my tabby female, friendly to anybody she meets, and she loves human company. She’s a very fussy eater. Her favourite toys are my gown belt and bottle caps. I love her colour and those toe beans!

Pepper, my male Bengal cross tabby, is highly sensitive and very afraid, especially of thunder storms. He takes a long period of time to socialise with new people. He has the most beautiful colours and eye colouring, too. He jumps quite high and loves to run. His water fountain is a favourite, and in the near future I’d love to get him his own treadmill. He has excellent hunting skills.

From foster mum to fur parent of the three most beautiful, precious babies. October is a special month as I celebrate their seven-year birthday. It’s not been an easy road, as each of us go through unexpected challenges and hurdles. My love and loyalty has remained the same throughout our journey; if not, it has definitely got much stronger.

I would do it over and over again, the love from all animals can never be compared to that of any human. The day that we bring a pet into our home, it is a lifelong commitment, they become our family.

The early mornings, litter trays, meows at my ears for treats, the constant sleep disturbance - I would still do it again. Loving them had given me the peace and happiness that can never be replaced.
