No More Tears Animal Rescue NPC was founded by Stephan Hendricks, who started his journey in 2017 by rescuing animals in the community. Fuelled by a passion for rescuing neglected and abandoned animals, he registered No More Tears Animal Rescue in 2021. We’re a passionate group, dedicated to rescuing and caring for abandoned, injured, and neglected animals in our community. We believe every creature deserves a safe haven and a loving forever home.

No More Tears Animal Rescue strives to rescue, help, rehabilitate and rehome abused, neglected and stray animals. We save the forgotten, heal the broken and love the unloved. In addition to teaching the poorer communities in and around Randfontein and Krugersdorp, we help with sterilisations and vet care for animals in need.

While we’ve made great strides in our efforts to help and save, we still have a lot to accomplish.

No More Tears”: A Symbol of Unconditional Love

Our name reflects our core belief: all animals, regardless of breed, age, or condition, deserve love and a second chance. Currently, we care for an average of 30 animals monthly. We operate from a boarding facility, but our dream is to own a property with a clinic, allowing us to help even more animals and their owners.

The No More Tears Animal Rescue team’s generosity is illuminated in each action that they take on behalf of animals in need, as seen with their recent project, #Plan4Nine Project. Many animals are living better lives today because of their compassion and big-heartedness.

I personally want to thank them for being the voice for the voiceless, for their ongoing support in our communities no matter the circumstances, animals receiving the critical care they need through remarkable veterinarians assisting them. They fully dedicate their time to rescuing, saving, assisting, and educating the community about animals in need, especially focusing on abandoned and abused animals. They are true angels. The love and passion they have and give, is astonishing.

Recent Projects: No More Tears Animal Rescue recently embarked on a project called #Plan4Nine Project

At the beginning of August 2024, a Good Samaritan, Mr Lukas Visagie, reached out to No More Tears Animal Rescue for help. He made us aware of several dogs that had been left behind when their owners had to move from an informal settlement in Randfontein. Unfortunately, the dogs were left without any food or sources of water. At this point there were nine dogs counted (#Plan4Nine project name), but in the end there were 11 in total that needed help.

Since then, Mr Visagie and Stephan Hendricks of No More Tears Animal Rescue have taken turns to give them food and water on a daily basis. The sad reality was seeing how some of these dogs patiently waited for their owner to return.

The only place these dogs knew as home was destroyed, and the only people they knew and were loyal to left them behind. There are a few puppies, most likely between six to eight months, and a few older dogs.

Some of these animals really had a hard life, with several dogs also needing medical attention. They’ll all be sterilised and vaccinated. One adult dog had a broken hind leg, which Dr Naude from Randfontein Animal Hospital treated (unfortunately, his leg had to be amputated, but he’s doing well at the Hospital and will go home within a week as he’s been adopted), and one of the younger puppies has a deformed leg.

The No More Tears Animal Rescue team, together with Mr Visagie, made the choice to help these dogs, to give them the second chance they deserve. We received an incredible opportunity from a kind-hearted, animal-loving family who donated to our organisation a piece of their land (which includes pig pens) that’s been converted into runs, as well as the pig pens that have been converted into dog kennels.

No More Tears Animal Rescue has depended on sponsorships, donations and the support from the community and the public to make a difference in these animals’ lives. The total cost estimate of the #Plan4Nine project was R60,000.00. We’re incredibly grateful and greatly appreciate everyone’s donations and support. It wouldn’t have had been possible without them.

On the weekend of the 1st of September 2024, the great process of catching these dogs and getting them to safety began. Seven of the dogs were caught and transported to their new home.

On the weekend of the 8th of September 2024, our luck ran out trying to catch the remaining four dogs left from the #Plan4Nine project. In the process we were able to save six more dogs – a mother and father with their four little ones. They weren’t part of the #Plan4Nine project but were in the same environment, so we couldn’t leave them behind.

By the 14th of September, two of the 11 dogs had not yet been caught, and there was no way it could be delayed for another week. The following day, after several attempts with the trapping cages, Dr Naude assisted us by darting them. Both dogs are safe, neutered and have been moved to their new home. Great appreciation to Dr Naude and the volunteers who came to help keep an eye on the dogs while he darted them. No More Tears Animal Rescue is extremely relieved to report that all 11 dogs from the #Plan4Nine project have been rescued and moved to their new homes.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

We rely solely on community support. Donations of any kind – financial, volunteering, or spreading awareness – make a huge difference. We also run outreach programmes to educate pet owners on responsible pet care, including sterilisation, vaccination, and veterinary services.

Become part of the No More Tears family and help us create a future filled with love and second chances for animals in need. Should anyone be able to make a donation or be a sponsor, it would be hugely appreciated. Companies donating or sponsoring will be mentioned on all the No More Tears Animal Rescue platforms and in the local Randfontein newspaper.
